Development of a Wearable Monitor for the Detection and Release of Freezing of Gait

Dr. Colum MacKinnon is recruiting people between the ages of 21 and 80 who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and have problems with freezing of gait, as well as people who do not have Parkinson’s disease and are between the ages of 21 and 80. EMG-DBS

This study aims to learn how to modify DBS settings to make DBS more effective at improving gait and balance. We are enrolling participants who have DBS. Participants attend one study visit for approximately 2-4 hours while on their PD medication. Participants will be seated while researchers test different DBS settings.
